FUTURE VISION PLAN - Pilot Districts Invitations Announced for Zones 23/24 (25/26 starting July 1st) (29 KB)
Congratulations to Districts 5020, 5160, 5170, 5340 on having received invitations to serve as one of 100 TRF FUTURE VISION PLAN Pilot Districts. Districts receiving invitations to participate have until June 10th to confirm their participation with TRF. All 100 Pilot Districts will be announced on June 15th. TRF Trustees Take Decision on Rotary Center at UC-Berkeley (64 KB)
During its meeting 20-24 April 2009, TRF Trustees agreed not to award additional fellowships for new Rotary World Peace Fellows to enroll at University of California, Berkeley effective with the 2010-11 program year (Class IX) and beyond until such time that the university might better meet The Rotary Foundation’s program requirements. Bill Gates Announces Additional $255 Million Grant for Polio
The Gates Foundation has awarded Rotary a $255 million challenge grant, which Rotary will match with $100 million raised by its members and supporters over the next three years. As a spearheading partner in the Global Polio Eradication Initiative, Rotary’s chief role is fundraising, advocacy and mobilizing volunteers. The announcement came during the R.I. Assembly in San Diego Jan 21st. The 5+ minute video is an abbreviated version of the Bill Gates' speech. |
