My grandmother was sick and was sent home from the hospital on hospice care. The hospice nurses stop by a few times a week and as they are needed when called. My family and I knew we wouldn’t be able to take care of her by ourselves. We all had jobs and other things to attend to and none of us could make arrangements to take care of her full time. We knew we would need to hire someone to care for her and started searching for in home care for seniors.
I asked a friend of mine that recently went through the same thing with her grandfather. I asked her what her family did and if they hired nurses to stay with him around the clock. She said they did and told me they used Spectrum Health Care. She said they were great with her grandfather and took care of him just as he should have been cared for.
I wanted to look into this company a little more before calling them to see what they had to offer. I searched for them on the Internet to see if I could find reviews about them and their in home care. I read really great things about them and I decided to give them a call. I let them know the insurance my grandmother has, but I knew that it wouldn’t cover all the cost of the care. I asked them what it would cost to hire them around the clock to care for her. They said they were going to contact the insurance company and get back to me on what it would cost.
They called back about 30 minutes later to let me know what it would cost after the insurance paid for it. It sounded reasonable and my family and I wanted to make sure she got the best care there was. I told them when I wanted them to start which was as soon as possible. Luckily, they were able to send someone over that day. That’s when I filled out the paperwork and got everything started.
After talking to the in home care provider with Spectrum Health Care, I knew I made a good choice to hire this company. The nurse was really nice and had a great personality. She also seemed like she knew what she was talking about when it came to in home care for seniors.
My grandmother is still on hospice care and still has in home care with Spectrum. They have been really great and she seems to be happy with them. She has been going through a good bit medically, however, my family and I feel confident that we hired a great medical staff to care for her while we aren’t there. She has even seemed to be doing a little better and not going downhill as quickly as she seemed to be at first. It was a great choice hiring them.
